hair trend: CURVED FRINGE

HAVING A SLIGHTLY CURVED/CURLED FRINGE...
is a softer and easier way to wear your hair rather than the dead straight blunt fringe.
To DIY: Use a flat iron and give a little bend by curving the iron right at the bottom.
INSIDER TRICK: If your fringe is getting in your eyes and it's a coupla weeks til your next appointment - giving it a slight bend will help extend your look in between trims.

the NEW PONYTAIL

WANT TO UPDATE YOUR EVERYDAY PONYTAIL?
Here's the trick that has made this ponytail look a little more 'bumped-out' than normal...
There are actually two elastics holding this pony in place, one stacked on top of the next to make the pony stick out further for extra bounciness and swing. They're also tightly wound to help keep the pony perfectly placed!
And they great thing, this trick works on both 'sleek' and 'messy' ponytails!

hair trend: HAIR HALF UP

THIS LOOK IS STRAIGHT FROM THE RUNWAY...
For Rodarte's recent collection, hairstylist Odile Gilbert created a side-swept style that
incorporated a tiny braid on one side.
To DIY:
1. Create texture by using a styling foam throughout dry hair, twisting and scrunching strands with your fingers as you blow-dry - stop halfway through to spray in some hair spray.
2. Make a strong, slightly imperfect part on the left side of your head, leaving a large section sweeping across your forehead.
3. Bring together two-inch pieces from either side of the part into a very small braid over your right ear and secure the ends with a clear elastic.
4. Pin any long pieces unobtrusively in place, by tucking the ends into the braid.
5. Keep the windblown look from falling out by finishing with a heavy coating of hair spray.

signs you NEED A HAIRCUT

IF YOU'RE TOSSING UP WHETHER TO GET YOUR HAIR CUT OR NOT...
here are some signs that may help you make your decision to
pick up the phone and make a booking {with Mana}:

* Your hairstylist cut layers the last time you got your hair cut, and now your hair is nearing one length.

* You've had the exact same length for the past five years. To ensure your dead ends are gone, get a few centimetres chopped.

* Your hair is looking thinner. The longer fine hair grows, the thinner it looks. A shorter cut can give you the appearance of thicker, healthier hair.

* It takes you longer than usual to style your hair. When it never turns out the way you hoped, your cut is getting too long.

long LUSCIOUS LOCKS

WHILE THERE IS LITTLE YOU CAN DO TO MAKE YOUR HAIR GROW FASTER...
a healthy diet is essential to keep hair
looking and feeling great.

Low levels of vitamin B can lead to a change in colour and texture, while not enough fatty acids in your diet may lead to dry, brittle hair. So make sure your diet includes plenty of fruit and veg, protein, oily fish and fluids. If in doubt, a good multivitamin tablet could help.

You should get your hair trimmed regularly, too. Leaving it too long can mean split ends become split hair shafts and you could end up having to lose several precious centimetres when you’re trying to add them.

the BEEHIVE is back

BEEHIVES WERE ALL OVER THE FALL RUNWAYS...
and while they take a little extra effort, are a great way to get your hair up and off your neck on steamy days. Brush back your strands, then tease a headband of hair from one ear to the other. Whisk the rest of your hair up and over the roughed-up roots, and gather in a French twist for a simplified version of the style. Hairspray is your friend with a look like this. Hold your breath and spritz generously.
