4 things making your hair {and you} look older

You may focus on and stress about your skin when you think about anti-aging treatments. But you might want to look a little higher up on your head.

According to the experts, the condition of your hair can really make you look older. Dryness, lacklustre colour, frizziness, breakage, split ends, and thinning are all signs of ageing.

Here are 4 behaviours you can change to help your hair {and you!} look healthier and younger:

1. Bad nutrition: A bad diet can contribute to lacklustre locks. Bauman suggests eating salmon, which is loaded with omega-3 fatty acid, dark green vegetables for vitamins A and C, and nuts, which are a good source of zinc.

2. Overwashing hair: You don't need squeaky-clean hair every single day. Overwashing strips oils and can contribute to dryness.

3. Too many ponytails: Braids and ponies are so easy-to-do and great fall-back style for bad hair days - but the constant pulling and stress can cause hair breakage.

4. Too much heat-styling: Blow-drying and using flat irons dry out your hair - making it dull and frizzy, and therefore older!
